Patrick Grab is a photo-realist professional sports artist from Erie, Pennsylvania. Patrick graduated from the College of Wooster, where he majored in Studio Art and played varsity tennis. At the age of 22, he has already established himself in the sports world. His incredibly detailed artwork has gained him attention from athletes of all levels, especially collegiate and professional athletes. Patrick's main focus is graphite pencil drawings, but he also has some experience with clay sculptures, pastels, and painting.
Patrick has always had a passion for athletics. In fact, he has played just about every sport, and still competes to this day. His past in the field of art is quite the opposite. Patrick has always been interested in art, but never seriously. It wasn't until his Junior year in high school at Cathedral Prep where he replicated his first drawing from a photograph. After doing so, he fully realized his artistic talent, and his true passion for drawing came alive. The following year, he combined his love of sports and drawing, finding an exceptional talent in the field of sports art.
From there, his entrepreneurial venture of sports art business began. During his senior year, he was commissioned to draw action shots of five local high school and collegiate athletes. His business has since expanded to include Olympic and professional athletes.
Patrick has successfully attained professional contacts and clients within the last several years of his college career. Working with such athletes as the young American tennis player Sam Querrey, U.S. Olympic speed skater Allison Baver, as well as others, helps Patrick with future business and professional clients. He is confident that he can provide the best quaility art services available to a wide variety of athletes. He will continue to add big names to an already impressive list of athletes, including Bob Sanders, Brady Quinn, Eric Hicks, Sam Querrey, Jesse Levine, Allison Baver, Ed Hinkel, Jordan Norwood, Sean O’Connor, and more. His drawings of his short career thus far have included football, tennis, basketball, baseball, golf, track, and speed skating.
